Info Post: Save the Earth
Nov. 13th, 2013 11:30 pmName: Ethan Landes [Syaoran Li]
Age:15 Totally 14.
Appearance: Pretty much as he appears here, except for a new, wicked scar on his face where a knife cut him pretty badly. He tends not to talk about it, but he doesn't hide it, either.
Occupation: Middle-school student (8th grade), soccer team
Application: Right here.
IC Contact: This one.
Echoes Received:
1st - [Mental/Memory] On a class trip to the Tuning Towers , Ethan found himself with a headache and a buzzing sound he couldn't quite get rid of; in addition to those, he found himself with a memory that wasn't his: standing atop one of those funny-looking Japanese gates, was a figure with wings that was hard to see against the full moon. But he heard the angel speak clearly and officially: "Cards created by Clow... here stands one who would be your Master. The girl chosen by the Advocate, Cerberus. Her name is Sakura. To determine if she is a worthy Master, I... Yue, the Judge... will begin the final trial." He's dimly aware there are other people there, but that's as much as he can see before the memory ends.
2nd - [Item] Returning home from school and setting his bag down on his desk, Ethan found (unprovoked!) a brown paper bag full of spools of thread in dark colors, sewing needles, and bandages. All of their labels are in Japanese, and the spools of thread have prices in yen that would be scandalously low in a modern textile shop - how old are these? He has no idea why he has them, but if they came from a pulse, they must be important... right?
3rd - [Item + Ability] Getting caught up with the Blood Keys on a shopping trip with Holly, after the emptiness cleared Ethan found himself holding a sword. A sword that, he'll learn later, is very special: it's the Li Clan's ceremonial sword, and it takes magic to use. He's also recovered just a tiny bit of his magical power, enough to be able to unseal the sword, but he won't know how to do that without a little practice and a bit of luck.
4th - [Memory] Seeing Holly's staff, on the other hand, gave Ethan a memory from the past, of a pink staff that looked mighty familiar, and a girl holding it that looked... vaguely familiar, but not distinct enough from this to make out. But someone else, a young lady maybe in her twenties, began to speak. She talked about Clow Reed knowing who would inherit the Clow Cards, and that he took steps to make sure things would work out. After all, she pointed out, why else would he make the staff a cute pink thing? That's all he gets; Ethan has a vague feeling that past-him disliked this lady, but beyond that, he's not sure what else to think.
Quick Notes:
Ethan is coming from the manga version of Cardcaptor Sakura. As a result of this, Meilin doesn't exist, the Clow deck is 19 cards instead of 53, Clow Reed has two half-reincarnations rather than just the one annoying one, and... a few other things that are small enough not to need mentioning until they become important. If you have any questions regarding the differences between the manga continuity, the original anime continuity, and the dub continuity, please ask and I'll see if we can sort things out!
Please also note that, while Ethan shares his preincarnation's future appearance as seen in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle - mostly by virtue of age - he is not from that series and will not receive Echoes pertaining to it.
