Name: Syaoran Li
Canon: Cardcaptor Sakura
Overview: Chinesebrat heir to a great magical power, except he's from a CLAMP canon and isn't female, so it's not destined for him. Tries to take the Clow Cards by force, fails miserably, ends up playing second banana and being the love interest in one of the surprisingly few straight pairings in the canon. Gives up on taking the Clow Cards and ends up marrying the actual owner of the Cards someday. Headstrong and coarse, he's kind of a bully to start out, but he's got a heart of gold. Extremely gullible, and isn't good at people. Subconsciously attracted to powers of a lunar origin; subconsciously repelled by powers of a solar origin. Blame Clow Reed.
Enrollment Status: Student, 8th grade. New to the school.
Species: Human; will awaken to powers at some point.
AU Overview: This version is Ethan Landes, who is American by birth, and ends up with the sword and ofuda of his ancestors because reasons. (Yes, I'm repurposing a StE journal, fight me.) Ethan's mother died in an act of violence a long time ago, and he's never really gotten over it; he's kind of even more headstrong and coarse, but has a very strong protective streak, and he knows how to keep the violence bottled up when he doesn't need it. Started attending the Academy this school year, but hasn't actually gotten the Li Clan's sword and ofuda yet, so... oops. Once he has them, they basically work exactly like canon. He carries the pendant form everywhere, and at will as a move action, he can turn it into the Li Clan's ancestral shortsword. Slapping an ofuda on the hilt and shouting a prayer makes an element happen.
